If you’ve ever lugged your bicycle up a stairway you’ve experienced the hassle. The Seattle DOT is committed to eliminating that hassle where it can, by installing runnels, “a narrow ledge installed along the side of the staircase where you can roll your bike up or down the staircase.”
Seattle PI reporter Scott Gutierrez has the story: “SDOT: Making it easier to haul your bike up the stairs.”
This effort to make Seattle more bike-friendly should be free of controversy, unlike some of the City’s other efforts.
